APRIL NEWSLETTER

Hello, and welcome to my new website! I write the Modern Midwife Mysteries. Book #1 is Murder at the Wedding, and Book #2 is Murder on the Widow's Walk. Book #3 will be released later this year. Maeve O'Reilly Kensington, my modern nurse midwife, provides excellent patient care and also solves crimes in Langford, her quintessential New England town. I hope that you enjoy her adventures.

Malice Domestic

Malice Domestic is an annual fan convention that celebrates traditional mysteries. Agatha Christie was indeed the grand dame of the genre. Malice Domestic will be held April 28-30 in Bethesda, Maryland. I will present my books at the New Author's Breakfast on Sunday, April 30th. Please say hello if you are there.

Recipe of the Month!

All of the Modern Midwife Mysteries contain recipes. Pasta Shrimp Salad is from Maeve's husband. His catering company is A Thyme for All Seasons. This is a delicious main dish or salad for a spring buffet!

Will's Pasta Shrimp Salad

1 lb. pasta shells

2 lbs. large cooked frozen shrimp

1 cup petite green peas

1/2 cup diced sweet red pepper

1/2 cup diced yellow pepper

1/2 cup diced purple onion

1 cup sliced black olives

1 tablespoon fresh or dried basil

4 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 cup olive oil

Salt & pepper

Cook pasta & drain.

Defrost shrimp.

Put pasta, shrimp, peas, peppers, onion, and olives in a bowl.

Whisk basil, lemon juice, and olive oil together.

Pour over salad and toss to combine.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve immediately, or salad may be refrigerated and served chilled.

Serve with warm breadsticks.
